The Mi Band has beaten the Apple Watch: Xiaomi already sells more wearables than Apple

The latest market data confirms that more Xiaomi Mi Band than Apple Watch are already sold worldwide.

The last Canalys wearables market data let Xiaomi as the leader of an industry in full growth, which during the second quarter of the year reached a sales figure of 40.9 million units worldwide.

Of all those sales, 20.1% were from Xiaomi wearables like the Xiaomi Mi Band, with nothing less than 8 million units shipped globally, close to 100,000 units more than those achieved by the Apple Watch.

The Mi Band 6 is the latest generation of Xiaomi's family of smart bracelets.

Xiaomi sold 8 million wearables during the second quarter of 2021

Canalys data reflects that Xiaomi has managed to surpass Apple, becoming the World's most successful wearables seller during the second quarter of the year, probably due to the arrival of the Xiaomi Mi Band 6 on the market.

With a 19.6% share, Xiaomi has managed to place itself in the first position, above Apple with a 19.3% share. For its part, Huawei remains the third position, with a 9.2% market share.

Below, we find Fitbit, with 3 million units shipped and a 7.3% share; already Samsung with 2.5 million units and a 6.1% share.

But things change the moment we start talking about Smart Watches. In that market segment, Apple continues to dominate with an iron fist by getting a share of the 31.1%, which yes, is slightly reduced compared to the same period last year, despite having managed to exceed the number of shipments and reach almost 8 million.

In this case, Huawei occupies the second position with a share of 9% in the second quarter of 2021, and Garmin the third with 7.6%.

Samsung also appears on the scene with a 7% fee thanks to smartwatch sales of 1.8 million, surpassing Xiaomi, which is left with a 5.7% market share globally.
