Tag Heuer to launch a new smartwatch with Android Wear 2.0 in May

It was Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of the company, who has confirmed his intention to launch a new generation of the Connected through a interview offered to TechCrunch.

Although at the moment it has not specified details about the new watch, it is expected to reach the market with Android Wear 2.0, the new version of Google's operating system which will be officially released on February 9.

In addition, Biver has indicated that some of the deficiencies that the current generation of Tag Heuer Connected has will be solved. For it, a GPS chip, a higher capacity battery and a higher quality screen will be included. All this, of course, accompanied by a price commensurate with the quality of the watches that defines Tag Heuer.

And is that even taking into account the 1,500 euros that the first generation of the Connected costs, The firm is proud to have marketed more than 56,000 units of the watch worldwide, a figure that far exceeds, and even doubles, the forecast of 20,000 watches that was originally expected to sell.

With this new watch that will arrive in the month of May, the firm intends to triple the current sales figure, reaching 150,000 watches sold worldwide, a figure at least ambitious for a of luxury that exceeds 1,000 euros.
