Which phone should you choose? Get out of any doubt with our complete comparison.
Years ago, having a cheap or cheap Android phone was a real lottery, especially if it came from China. Today, “Made in China” is no longer scary and much of it is the fault of firms like Xiaomi.
Xiaomi is well known for launching numerous mobiles on the market, some under its own signature, others under the Redmi name. Although a couple of years ago it was removed from the sleeve the POCO brand which wanted to be the main competitor of OnePlus.
Nowadays POCO is synonymous with quality, spectacular phones and above all a good price. Some of its best exponents are the POCO X3 and the POCO M3, two of the smartphones with the best value for money on the market. Now, which one is worth the most? We help you to solve all your doubts.
Design and display: the POCO X3's 120 Hz makes the difference
Neither device is excessively small. Android firms have completely abandoned compact phones and are now struggling to see who makes the biggest smartphones with the longest screens.
Now, the design of the POCO M3 is something we have never seen before, made of polycarbonate, its rear part houses a large glass “window” where the device's cameras are present and that may not be to the taste of all consumers. As for its front (6.53-inch IPS screen by the way), it has a small notch in the form of a drop of water.
On the other hand, the POCO X3 is a much more conventional smartphone on the outside and to our liking, much more elegant and better used. At its rear, the rounded camera module with a central part that stands out notably draws attention, although its front part (6.67-inch IPS screen and Full HD + resolution) is much better used than that of the M3 thanks to a small hole where the front camera is hidden.
Now the main difference between both devices is that the POCO X3 has a display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, something surprising to see on a relatively inexpensive mobile.
Cameras: neither smartphone stands out excessively
Mobile phones have become the perfect substitutes for compact cameras hence the photographic section is an important point to take into account when purchasing a new smartphone.
The POCO X3 has the following camera setup:
- A main Sony IMX682 sensor with 64 megapixels and f / 1.89 aperture.
- An ultra wide angle of 13 megapixels and aperture f / 2.2.
- A macro of 2 megapixels and aperture f / 2.4.
- A 2 megapixel sensor for portrait mode, with f / 2.4 aperture.
- In the hole in its front we find a 20 megapixel sensor and f / 2.2.
By cons, the LITTLE M3:
- A main sensor of 48 MP and aperture f / 1.79.
- An ultra wide angle of 8 MP
- A 2 Mp macro
- An 8 MP front camera
As you can see, the POCO X3 has a much better photographic section on paper and we already anticipate that on practice as well. However neither of the two devices is a benchmark when it comes to photography And while the X3 is a couple of notches higher than the M3, the camera is not the reason you want to buy any of these devices.
Battery: the POCO M3 wins but with a “trick”
The fact that the POCO X3 has a screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz could make us think that its autonomy would not be the best on the market, but it is not. The 5,160 mAh is more than enough to last all day with the 120 Hz activated. Obviously if we go down in the 60 Hz configuration we will have more autonomy but honestly, it is not worth it.
In addition to this we have a 33 W fast charge, which allows you to go from 0% to 50% in less than 30 minutes. That is, to fully charge the terminal you only have to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes.
By cons the POCO M3 has a 6,000 mAh battery which, added to the fact that it does not have a refresh rate of 120 Hz, means that we can have an autonomy of a couple of days without going through chargers and plugs. It also has a fast charge of 18 W. Now, if you are one of those who charge your phone every night, better bet on the 120 Hz of the POCO X3.
Processor and memory: the POCO X3 is unrivaled
It's no joke when we say that the POCO X3 is possibly the terminal with the best value for money on the market And it doesn't matter how good the competition is, because this device has practically no rival.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor accompanied by 6 GB of RAM. Obviously it is not a high-end configuration but we are talking about a terminal that costs approximately about 200 euros.
The POCO X3 it is perfect for enjoying heavy games like Genshin Impact as well as any other application that we can download from the Play Store.
On the other hand, the POCO M3 has somewhat inferior but equally interesting hardware. Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor and 4 GB of RAM. A really remarkable and sufficient configuration but the POCO X3 is so good that as we have said before, it does not matter what the rest of the terminals do. Today it is unrivaled in this price range.
Connectivity: this input range lacks absolutely nothing
That a phone is cheap should not be an impediment to come with the latest of the latest in terms of connectivity and effectively this is demonstrated by both terminals.
NFC, fingerprint reader on the side, USB type C and 3.5 port for headphones, something that unfortunately is no longer seen in many terminals. Neither has 5G connectivity But taking into account that it is a technology that is not yet essential, we do not care much either.
The two terminals are therefore very similar in terms of “extras” so there is not much more to add here.
POCO X3 or POCO M3: which one should you buy?
The POCO M3 is a quite interesting terminal as an entry-level telephone but the problem is that as we have said before, the POCO X3 is unrivaled. For just a few more euros we will have a better screen, better performance and a better camera and the 120 HZ cool rate is what makes the POCO X3 a unique terminal in its price range.
Without any discussion. The POCO X3 is the best terminal we can buy for 200 euros and unless MIUI throws you back, the smartest purchase.
And be careful, the POCO M3 is also a great phone and if you buy it you will not regret it but we consider that the X3 offers much more and is not much more expensive. Now, whatever you choose, LITTLE is always synonymous with success.
