With the arrival of the iPhone 6s and iOS 9, Apple decided to implement a feature that was intended to revolutionize the way we interact with the screen of our device: the 3D Touch. Since then, several more companies have decided to include different, albeit similar, technologies in their devices. Huawei, ZTE and Xiaomi have been some of the manufacturers of Android devices that have joined this .
But on October 4, Google arrived with a clear objective of demonstrating that these technologies are not necessary at all. And it is that as we have shown you today, the shortcuts included in Android 7.1 NougatThey are the most useful feature of the new version of Google's operating system, and that by the way, you can already try thanks to the first Developer Preview.

From here, we have the opinion that 3D Touch technology and derivatives are far from essential In these times, even more so considering the recent implementation of Google in Android 7.1, which by the way, will become compatible with more devices. And we want to show you why.
This is how Google has shown that 3D Touch is not necessary
First of all, it is necessary to comment on the operation of this new system, in which you will only have to press and hold for a few seconds on an icon on the screen of a compatible with this feature, to show us different actions to be carried out quickly without having to access the application itself.
And that's it. Google has not needed to implement any type of additional with which to have an excuse to increase the price of the device, and that, in addition, prevents this function from being compatible with older devices through a simple software update.
On the contrary, Apple, Huawei or ZTE, among others, do use additional hardware necessary to detect the pressure of our finger on the screen, and even in the case of exponents in Android, we find that only the top versions, and therefore, the most expensive of these devices have this feature, thus assuming an extra outlay for the user, for something that Google includes as standard.
What's more, it's really hard to differentiate between utility to perform a long press or a single press or with more pressure, as far as operation is concerned, we would be facing a technical tie.
Therefore, and in my opinion, I think that, not only is 3D Touch unnecessary, but also that Google has managed to develop an equally useful system, with the advantage of not having to implement any additional hardware or system, and that it can also be compatible with most current devices.
