Android against iOS, a war that seems to have no end. But hey, at the end of the day that is what it is all about, all the big companies have their greatest rival, otherwise it would be very boring, right? In all sectors we find epic rivalries, but this is one of the most popular in recent years.
When an Apple terminal surpasses Android in something, we say so, it costs us nothing, what’s more, the other day we saw how the new A11 chip of the iPhone X left Android terminals on the ground. But if Google’s operating system pulverizes iOS in market share, it can also be said, and for that reason we are going to see in which countries each of the platforms rules, although in the case of iOS we will see few. Let’s go there!
Android continues to overtake iOS in market share
We are before a battle that has several years of history, an incessant fight that seems to have no end, but I think it’s positive that both platforms continue to improve and compete at this level. At the end of the day, the ones who feel benefited are us, the users, who We enjoy all the news that is being incorporated.
But let’s talk about market share, an aspect that the followers of the bitten apple do not want to see. Why don’t they want to know this information? Basically because Android passes over iOS, and this is so, in most markets worldwide the Google’s operating system pulverizes Apple’s.
There you have the proof, some statistics published by Device Atlas where we can clearly see the dominance of Android over iOS. We are not going to get into arguments about which operating system is better or more completewe just want to focus on the leadership of each of the platforms in different countries.
You can clearly see the dominance of Android, if you look closely, the dark blue bar indicates the percentage of Android devices in each country. Instead, the another tonality is that of iOSand at first glance you can see the difference between the two.
This can be due to several reasons, however, there is a quite logical explanation for the issue in question, the cost of the products of both operating systems. Of course, it is not the same to buy an iPhone, of which the cheaper model can cost around 600-700 eurosto buy a mid-range Xiaomi that around 200 euros.
And as seen in the table, the countries where iOS is most common are some of those with the most purchasing power. On the other hand, in the case of Android, since it is found in a large number of brands, of different price ranges, it surpasses iOS in the vast majority of countries. In addition, although a priori it seems that iOS has more followers, be careful, Android has a large audience behind it.
